MEPCO Demand Notice

A demand notice is the bill for your new connection. MEPCO issues it once your application has been checked and approved. When you pay it, the installation can go ahead.

Where the demand notice fits in

You apply through the MEPCO SMART app or at a customer facilitation centre. See how to apply for a new connection.
MEPCO checks your documents, whether the transformer can take the load, and whether old dues are outstanding at the premises.
MEPCO issues the demand notice once an authorised officer, normally the assistant manager operation, is satisfied with the checks.
You pay the demand notice through the channel shown on it.
The meter is installed and your connection starts billing.

For connections up to 15 kW, NEPRA's Consumer Service Manual expects the demand notice within 10 days of registration. What the notice charges, including the security deposit per kW, is explained in MEPCO new connection fee.

How to track your application and demand notice

MEPCO SMART app: the Track New Connection service follows your application. Get it on the App Store or Google Play.
The office where you applied: quote the registration number you were given when you applied.
Not the ENC portal: enc.com.pk still offers tracking, printing and paying demand notices for other companies. For MEPCO it now points users to the MEPCO Smart App, the PowerSmart app or a customer facilitation centre.

Paying the demand notice safely

Pay the exact amount on the notice through the channel printed on it or shown in the app, and keep the receipt. Your receipt is your proof when you follow up on installation.

Never pay a person. PITC warns never to send money for a new connection, meter or any other electricity service to anyone's personal Easypaisa, JazzCash or bank account. Report such requests to the 118 helpline.

If your connection is delayed after paying

Check the status in the app's Track New Connection service.
Contact your sub-division or customer facilitation centre with your registration number and payment receipt.
If there is no progress, register a complaint through the complaint channels. The MEPCO SMART app also lets you escalate a complaint to NEPRA.

Once the meter is installed, you can check your MEPCO bill online with the reference number printed on your first bill.
