MEPCO Bill Calculator

Enter the units you used and your sanctioned load. The calculator applies NEPRA's current home tariff for MEPCO and shows every line of the estimate.
How the calculator works
The rates come from NEPRA's decision of 11 February 2026 on the rationalization of tariffs, notified by the government as S.R.O. 279(I)/2026. They apply from February 2026 bills. Customers of every former WAPDA distribution company pay the same uniform rates, and that includes MEPCO.
- Un-protected homes pay one rate on every unit. The rate is set by the slab the month's total falls in.
- Protected homes get the benefit of one previous slab. At 150 units, the first 100 units cost Rs 10.54 each and the other 50 cost Rs 13.01 each.
- Lifeline homes get no slab benefit and pay no fixed charge. A minimum charge of Rs 75 a month applies to single-phase connections.
- Fixed charges are a monthly amount for each kW of sanctioned load. Time-of-use meters pay on 50% of the sanctioned load or the MDI, whichever is higher.
- Adjustments are extra per-unit charges set by NEPRA each month or quarter. Lifeline and prepaid consumers do not pay the current ones.
- The debt servicing surcharge is a per-unit surcharge the federal government charges under section 31(8) of the NEPRA Act to repay power-sector debt, collected with the bill. It is Rs 3.23 a unit, Rs 0.43 for protected homes and nothing for lifeline homes, the rates NEPRA allowed on 30 March 2023. Untick it to see the bill without it.
- Electricity duty is a provincial duty printed at 1.5% of the cost of electricity and fixed charges on 2026 MEPCO bills.
- Sales tax is added at the standard 18% rate. You can change the rate if your bill shows something different.

Debt servicing surcharge: NEPRA decision of 30 March 2023 on the federal government's surcharge motion (rates by category, page 8); NEPRA decision of 7 September 2026 on use of system charges (paragraph 12); NEPRA decision of 9 December 2025 on the incremental consumption package (S.R.O. 2409(I)/2025); Sales Tax Act 1990, section 2(46)(i), FBR text updated to 2025-26.
Each part has its own guide: protected and un-protected categories, fixed charges per kW, fuel and quarterly adjustments and taxes on the bill.
Worked example: 250 units, un-protected, 2 kW
A home that used 250 units lands in the 201-300 slab, so all 250 units cost Rs 33.10 each. This is how a September 2026 bill would build up:
| Energy: 250 units x Rs 33.10 | Rs 8,275.00 |
| Fixed charges: 2 kW x Rs 350 | Rs 700.00 |
| Fuel adjustment (FCA): 250 units x Rs 2.0581 | Rs 514.52 |
| Quarterly adjustment (QTA): 250 units x Rs 0.5194 | Rs 129.85 |
| Electricity duty at 1.5% of energy and fixed charges | Rs 134.62 |
| Debt servicing surcharge: 250 units x Rs 3.23 | Rs 807.50 |
| General sales tax at 18% | Rs 1,901.07 |
| Estimated total | Rs 12,463 |
Worked example: 150 units, protected, 1 kW
A protected home at 150 units pays the lower rate on its first 100 units:
| Energy: first 100 units x Rs 10.54 | Rs 1,054.00 |
| Energy: next 50 units x Rs 13.01 | Rs 650.50 |
| Fixed charges: 1 kW x Rs 300 | Rs 300.00 |
| Fuel adjustment (FCA): 150 units x Rs 2.0581 | Rs 308.72 |
| Quarterly adjustment (QTA): 150 units x Rs 0.5194 | Rs 77.91 |
| Electricity duty at 1.5% of energy and fixed charges | Rs 30.07 |
| Debt servicing surcharge: 150 units x Rs 0.43 | Rs 64.50 |
| General sales tax at 18% | Rs 447.42 |
| Estimated total | Rs 2,933 |
For ready-made totals at 100, 200, 300 and more units, see the MEPCO bill for 100 to 700 units table.
What one extra unit costs at each slab edge
Un-protected homes pay one rate on the whole month, so crossing a slab edge by a single unit raises the price of every unit. If your usage sits just above an edge, cutting a few units can save far more than their own cost.
| At the slab edge | One unit more | Extra cost |
|---|---|---|
| 100 units: Rs 2,519 | 101 units: Rs 3,220 | Rs 701 |
| 200 units: Rs 6,082 | 201 units: Rs 7,003 | Rs 921 |
| 300 units: Rs 10,280 | 301 units: Rs 11,374 | Rs 1,094 |
| 400 units: Rs 14,984 | 401 units: Rs 16,119 | Rs 1,135 |
| 500 units: Rs 19,975 | 501 units: Rs 20,825 | Rs 850 |
| 600 units: Rs 24,807 | 601 units: Rs 25,827 | Rs 1,020 |
| 700 units: Rs 29,970 | 701 units: Rs 33,762 | Rs 3,792 |
What the estimate leaves out
- Income tax, which can apply to larger bills when the consumer is not on FBR's active taxpayer list.
- Arrears, installments and any deferred amounts from earlier bills.
- The late payment surcharge added after the due date.
- Any correction or detection charge added by MEPCO.
