How to Pay Your MEPCO Bill
Last checked 26 September 2026

You can pay a MEPCO bill from your phone in a couple of minutes. All you need is the 14-digit reference number. Paying through an official bill payment channel means the money reaches your MEPCO account, not a middleman.
Before you pay
Check your MEPCO bill online to confirm the amount and the due date. If the amount looks wrong, sort it out first through the complaint channels, because a paid bill is harder to correct.
Ways to pay
Banking app or internet banking
- Open the bill payment section and choose electricity.
- Pick MEPCO as the company.
- Enter the 14-digit reference number. The app fetches your current bill amount.
- Check the name and amount, pay, and keep the transaction ID.
Mobile wallets
JazzCash and Easypaisa also pay electricity bills through their bill payment menus, with the same steps: electricity, MEPCO, reference number.
MEPCO SMART app
The MEPCO SMART app has a pay bill service to download your bill and pay it online. It also lists requests for a due date extension or bill installments. Get it on the App Store or Google Play.
Over the counter
You can also pay with the paper bill, or a printed duplicate MEPCO bill, at a bank branch or other collection point that accepts electricity bills. Keep the stamped receipt.
Due date and late payment
- The bill shows two amounts: payable within due date and payable after due date. The second includes the late payment surcharge.
- Pay before the due date to avoid the surcharge. Online payments can take time to post, so avoid the last evening.
- Unpaid bills become arrears on the next bill and can lead to disconnection. MEPCO's FAQ says a disconnected supply is restored only after the dues are cleared and a reconnection order is issued. See MEPCO disconnection and reconnection.
Paying in installments
MEPCO's FAQ says the current bill cannot be split, but arrears can be allowed in equal monthly installments in genuine cases. Depending on the amount, the approval sits with the SDO, XEN, SE or CEO, and interest applies at the current bank rate. You can start the request in the MEPCO SMART app or at your sub-division. Details are in MEPCO bill installments.
How to check if a MEPCO bill is paid
A payment made in a banking app or wallet produces a transaction ID straight away. Keep it until MEPCO records the payment. The next bill's history box then lists the amount paid against each month, which is the simplest proof on MEPCO's side.
If a paid amount appears again as arrears, MEPCO's FAQ says to show the receipt at your sub-division or customer service centre to get it corrected. If money left your account but the payment did not complete, raise it with your bank or wallet first, quoting the transaction ID.
After you pay
- Keep the transaction ID or receipt until the payment shows on your next bill.
- If a paid amount appears as arrears, MEPCO's FAQ says to show the receipt at your sub-division or customer service centre to get it corrected.
