Register a complaint online
- Open PITC's complaint system. Go to Register Your Complaint on ccms.pitc.com.pk.
- Fill in the complaint form. Keep your reference number and a short description of the problem ready.
- Save the complaint number you are given. Follow it on the Track Your Complaint page.
PITC says each complaint is acknowledged automatically within 24 hours and it aims to resolve complaints within 14 days. If a case needs complex investigation, you are told about the extra time.
The same system has a feeder details page for information about your area's feeder.
A full walkthrough, including the SMS format for 8118, is in MEPCO online complaint.
Complain through the MEPCO SMART app
MEPCO's app lists these complaint services:
- submit complaints, including power interruptions;
- track a complaint by its tracking ID;
- escalate a complaint to NEPRA;
- request a meter change for a damaged meter.
Get it on the App Store or Google Play.
Common problems and where to go
| Problem | What to do |
|---|---|
| No power, or supply cut | Call 118 or your sub-division's complaint office. MEPCO's FAQ says the sub-division complaint centre can tell you when supply will be restored. |
| Wrong meter reading on the bill | Contact the customer service centre in your area or at MEPCO headquarters. See getting a MEPCO bill corrected. |
| Arrears you already paid | Show your payment receipt at the sub-division or customer service centre. |
| Low voltage in your area | Contact your area's SDO, XEN or SE. MEPCO's FAQ says they fix it at their level or refer extra work to headquarters. |
| Frequent outages | Contact your sub-divisional officer, who can find the cause, often an overloaded system. |
| Dangerous pole or wire blocking a door or street | Write to the executive engineer (operation) of your area. MEPCO prepares an estimate for moving it, which you pay. Stay clear of it meanwhile: electricity safety tips. |
| Bill not received | Get a duplicate bill. If bills are often late, contact your sub-divisional office. |
Circle offices
MEPCO publishes phone directories for each of its nine operation circles on its contact page. They cover Multan, Khanewal, Sahiwal, Vehari, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Rahim Yar Khan, Dera Ghazi Khan and Muzaffargarh. The same page has lists of all SEs, XENs and IT centres. See also MEPCO offices and customer service centres.
If your complaint is not resolved
- Escalate in writing to PITC's Head of Quality and Assurance at qaccms@pitc.com.pk.
- Use the NEPRA complaints service in the MEPCO SMART app to take it to the regulator. See how to complain to NEPRA about MEPCO.
- For over-billing, tariff or meter disputes, the Punjab Energy Department's Electricity Billing Complaint Portal puts the case before the regional Electric Inspector.
